The red light on dash flashes all the time even when car is unlocked. Is this nomal. 2008 Azera.
Also when starting the car the wipers make one sweep.

You probably have your wipers on "AUTO" mode and your speed control knob is turned toward "1". This is normal. Check your manual on page 85.

I didn't find anything about security red light yet.

    Regards.

RE: flashing red light on dash

The flashing red light on the dash will flash just about all the time, save for the time you lock the car with your remote, when it will stay ON for 30 seconds, then begin to blink. Point being, the blinking red light can serve as a warning to thieves to stay clear, and if you forget to lock your car, you don't want a non-functioning (off) red light to say, HERE! HERE! Take THIS one!

Also, I believe if your vehicle has "rain-sensing wipers," and you have the stalk set to automatic, you will get one sweep at start-up...

Well, ask the man who owns one! As soon as the key is inserted in the ignition, the red blinky goes off...

It's a security feature, blinks whether it's armed or not. I mean, if it's there and not blinking, someone might think, "Heyyy, they forgot to arm the alarm!" (crash of window glass).

But it also reveals to YOU if a part of your protection is missing. When you lock up, the red blinky comes on and stays on for 30 seconds, and you should get an electronic "beep" and the parking lights should blink once. If a door or trunk or hood switch is not made when you lock the car, the blinky just blinks away and you get no "beep" nor lights flash...
