Hi, what fuel are you using? Tire pressures? are you leaving the g/box to change gear or are you using manual override?
    My 2008 3.8 Limited - in town normal driving" anything between 15 -17mpg -
    Freeway 25 - 27 sometimes 30 - 32 depending on length of journey..

I also have a 3.8 Limited. I am using 87 octane Costco fuel and my tire pressure is 30 w/ nitrogen. I use the g/box to change the gear. A service mgr said to change my fuel to Chevron. I'll try next time. I recently met someone who says he gets 20mpg and something is wrong. Everything checks out OK at the dealer and I get no satisfaction.

Azzyfan, why do you use mid grade gasoline? The higher the octane number the more difficult it is to produce an explosion in the combustion chamber. Conversely, the higher the compression ratio the easier is is to achieve an explosion and pre-detonation or knocking, which is why we use higher octane gasoline in higher compression ratio engines. If your engine doesn't knock on 87 octane, that engine is getting the most energy out of that fuel at the lowest cost.

Richard, what kind of millage do you get on your 3.8 Azera? I would never use a higher octane gas if my car didn't knock.I am getting an apointment to meet with the Hyundai zone mgr.Maybe something can be resolved with my poor 15mpg gas millage.

(Azzyfan, why do you use mid grade gasoline?)
Good ? -- well since day of the Azzy I have always put the Mid Grade, technical reasons None"
I just feel my car "steps up" when I need it! I used Mid" in my V6 Stratus Coupe & that covered a lot"" of miles, I still see it running around my local area.
I will try the 87 octane, probably itz all in my mind..

It's all in your mind using a mid grade when not required. You must be from the old school that thinks a higher octane was better. I used to have a Olds Cutlas Supreme that would ping if I didn't use a higher octane than 87.. Gas was much cheaper then.
I put in Chevron for the 1st time. The dealer said give it 2 fill ups and then check it out. It cost 11 cents more than Costco. I'll see if is worth the extra cost if I get better mileage. Personally, I think that gas is gas.....we'll see.

    Welcome to the forum!

The primary value (if there is one) in using Chevron gasoline is that it contains a proprietary ingredient, Techron™. From Wiki:

    ----------

Techron is a patented additive developed by Chevron Products Company, consisting of a family of compounds known as polyether amines.[1] Techron reduces accumulation of deposits in fuel injectors and on intake valves, and minimizes build-up of deposits in the combustion chamber.[2] With the introduction of Techron, Chevron gasolines became designated as meeting TOP TIER standards for fuel cleanliness.

Techron is also available as a packaged concentrate, for use with lower quality gasoline ("under-additized"). Both Volvo and Mercedes-Benz have issued factory service bulletins advising the use of concentrated Chevron Techron in repair procedures for vehicles with certain mechanical problems.

    ----------

And yes, it's a waste on money to use a higher octane fuel than is called for, as the Azera can adjust the spark timing through a goodly range to account for fuel variations and to prevent the detonation called "knock" or "ping"...
