Replacing the factory Sub in the 2013 Azera with tech package

I've been looking all over the web to see if anyone has modified or replaced speakers on the 2013 Azera. I've done this on all of my car but this car has more electronic toys than previous cars. Basically I want to replace the factory sub with a slightly bigger one but I do not want to replace the head unit. I want to keep the factory look. I've been told that the azera has microphones in the car that works to keep the car quiet (noise cancellation) which makes it difficult to install subs or make any type of speaker changes to the car. Has anyone done this to a 2012 or 2013 Azera? I would love to get some ideas.

I am not aware of any active noise cancellation on the Azera. On the other hand, I'm happy with my SUB.

I added an aftermarket sub to the Azera and it sounds great. Happy Azera owner now.

I just added two JBL 10" subs with JBL amp and used the headunit. Sounds really good and control the bass from my headunit.

I've done this. Simple inputs from the original sub signal.

I just picked up a used 2012 base model Azera. I came from a SAAB 9-3 which had a GREAT Bose sound system. I miss my sounds

Can anyone be a lot more specific with what they added or replaced in the Azera? I'm not looking to go all out and replace everything. I want to keep the head unit, but I believe replacing the sub will be all I need/want to do for much richer bass. However, replacing the door speakers might be good too but my research has found that the factory speakers are 2 OHM.

Detailed advice with what you replaced and model numbers would be greatly appreciated. I just can't live with what I have now.

    Regards,
    Cordell

Hey there Cordell, it's AzFe. Hey, don't just change the sub. Infinity worked out the details to make the factory one work with the factory amp just right. Now if you want to improve from factory, then change the sub and add an amp for the sub(s). The factory sub leads can be used as the signal to the added amp for the new sub(s). There are line converters you can use for this and still retain the factory amp and radio.

i replaced the blown sub in my '06 with a Polk Audio db840DVC. i had to make an adapter ring (out of mdf) to mount between the chassis and the speaker basket. it took a while to find a speaker that was both dual voice coil and the proper impedance to play nicely (iow... be compatible with) the oem Infinity dedicated sub amp. so far, so good.
