My local dealer had my Azzie for a couple of days to do the recall re air bag related hardware on the passenger side. While there, they (of course) did a write up for "needed service." My car is just at 30,000 miles and among other things that I feel they are right about they also wanted to change the transmission fluid. I had a look in the owner's manual and it's totally confusing. Gives two options (I think) for what to do about this. IF I'm reading the manual right, the owner really only needs to change the transmission fluid at 60,000 miles UNLESS it's seen "heavy duty" (I assume this means towing boats, etc.).

Does anyone know for sure if the appropriate interval for just normal driving is 30,000 or 60,000? Many thanks.
According to my 2006 owner's manual the AFT is merely "inspected" up until 105,000 mile service. However, looking back at my file of work orders, I see that they did mine at the 30k mile service. Ran about $55, labor and fluid. Try to find ANY location in the US where a dealer doesn't say it's "severe" use or "heavy duty"...
Most manufacturers recommend that manual transmission fluid be changed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles and Under heavy-duty use. Some manufacturers suggest changing transmission fluid every 15,000 miles.
