Interesting coincidence: yesterday I received the Federally-Mandated Passenger Airbag Sensor Recall Notice in the mail, and a few minutes ago... the sensor on our '07 Azera failed, turning on the "AIR BAG" warning light in the instrument cluster. The "Passenger Air Bag... " warning light by the clock also activated, in spite of our kid, the 150-lb soccer animal, sitting in the front passenger seat! Oh, well.
Guess it's time to return to the dealer for the mandated sensor replacement, plus more fights about suspension woes, cracks in the dash, another warranty replacement of the infernal rear window curtain, rear door weatherstripping retainer, buckling plastic 'chrome' trim around the rear bumper, dysfunctional door lock solenoid, etc., etc.
Anyone else beside me have issues with:
* The passenger door mirror loosening up? (I'm concerned,
since that mirror actually fell off the Edmunds 2006 Azera
long-term test car! Hyundai dealer charged them $600. to
replace it!)
* Wind noise seeping loudly past the driver's door-to-door-
frame seal?
* Faux wood applique/paint/whatever falling off the
gearshift knob?
* Mysterious rattles somewhere in the bowels of the driver's
door assembly?
* Defective plastic under-belly shields?
* 'Lazy' take-up reels on the front seat belts?
Sounds crazy, but overall, we do like the car! Just these niggling items the dealer 'can't see'/'didn't notice while test driving'/doesn't want to be bothered with ... on warranty. I'm sure they'd fully embrace those repairs/replacements, once the warranty period has expired, and everything's all on a "customer pay" basis!!! Not what I'd call good customer care, but maybe that's just the way it is(?). At least the accelerator linkage no longer sticks at W.O.T. when passing a slower car!
