    2009 azera keeps cutting out

Hi, can anyone help please? I have a 2009, 2.7 Azera purchased in Saudi Arabia which has started cutting out on me. It does this every so often & I can't tell when it is going to happen. After it has stopped & I try to start it, it runs really badly & carries on cutting out, then after around 15 tries it seems to sort itself out & runs without a problem until the next time it happens. The dealer told me it is due to carbon build up in the cylinder heads & wanted a huge sum to take them off to clean but as the car has only covered 80,000km I am skeptical that this is the problem. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance. Nick Carter

Firstly, when it cuts out, do you lose your radio station presets or do your automatic up/down windows need to be reset? That would suggest a battery connection has become loose or corroded, or possibly a chassis grounding cable...

Secondly, Saudi = sand, dust. If your fuel filter is getting clogged, you'll suffer fuel starvation after driving for awhile. While you struggle to restart, the filter will let enough fuel build up to feed the injectors and get you going, until the next time...
