    power from rearview mirror

Hello and thanks for any help in advance. I would like to 'rewire' my Garmin Nuvi power cable to obtain power from the rearview mirror. I have looked at the HMA website and seen the (wiring diagram) connector providing 12v to the mirror. This would allow shortening the power cable and eliminating the dangling cable to my cigarette lighter. Any thoughts on this?

Also, is there a way to disable the auto down in reverse feature on the rear sunshade?

    Thanks again.

    RE: power from rearview mirror

A power adjustable Center interior Rear View Mirror. Linked to the Power mirror controller and accessed by placing the switch in the center position. This system would also be linked to the Seat,Steering Wheel, Exterior Mirror Memory systems in most higher end cars.
