    WHEEL FAQs

    Hello,

I got a 06 Azera SE (black with tan). I know the stock wheel and tire size is 16 x 6.5 and P225/60R16.

I'd like to get some 18" wheels.
    1) What offset should I be looking for?
    2) What's the bolt pattern for the Azera? 5 x 114.3?
    3) What width size is safe without experiencing fender rubbing? 18 x 7.5 or 18 x 8?
    4) What tire size options do I have? only 235/50-18? I'd like more rubber than low profile.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm not too sure if you can put 18 inch wheels on a SE. My 17 inch wheels on my limited are very close to the wheel well now. 18 inch may even hit the wheel well. I even put mud guard on the car a few weeks ago and they are very close to the tires. Before you invest you best ask the dealer first.

They will fit. You will just have to change th tire size to a more of a lower profile tire.

    RE: WHEEL FAQs

What's the largest aftermarket tire that will fit on the stock 17'' Azera wheel??

Let's try again......I want to go to a wider tread and a lower profile...

I don't want to recalibrate the speedo....I can live with a 1-2mph diference due to the increased tire rpm's for a lower profile and wider tread area......

    Any suggestons??

You want even a bigger tire than default one?

Your speedo will probably be off if you use a larger tire than factory default, unless you calibrate the speedo.

I have 255/35/20's on mine with no significant change on the speedometer, maybe 1/2 to 1 mile difference around 65. I'm about to upgrade to a staggered set up with 245/35/20 front and 285/30/20 in the rear and they will fit perfectly with the overall diameter almost the same.

    RE: WHEEL FAQs

As long as your overall tire diameter and wheel offset is the same you will have no problems. You can go a little bit wider (like from 235 to 245) without issues but be careful if you are adding more width than this and/or lowering the car since you may rub where you didn't before. Just remember the larger your wheel diameter, the smaller you tire sidewall will be since you want the overall outside tire diameter to remain unchanged (or within a 1-2% difference). I think the stock wheel offset is 40 but don't quote me on that.

101649 - check out the www.discounttiredirect.com site that Gamle-ged mentioned for a tire sizing guide for the azera. They will have stock tires and also the "plus-zero" tires for going a little wider on the same 17" wheel. You will still have roughly the same sidewall height so to keep overall tire size in check (and your speedo calibrated). The only way to get a (noticably) lower profile tire without screwing up your speedo is to put it on a larger diameter rim (like an 18 or 19")- more metal, less rubber, same outside diameter.

    RE: WHEEL FAQs

You could go with a deep offset, although you may need a fender roll to do it .I was going to get some 20 inch riversides but that wayy to big for this car. I'd say 18 at most mabe 19's but if you want to go the vip route get some nice deep 17's with some good offset. Also take into account your going to need better brakes for a bigger wheel to maintian decent stopping distance.
