    Centre Cap (???) Wheelcovers

I replaced my 17" aluminum wheels with 16" metal rims for the winter and I'm looking to get some sort of wheel covers.

I want to avoid the usual full sized hubcaps that can be purchased at your local automobile parts store as I usually lose one or two over the winter.

I'm more interested in finding something more along the lines of what you'd find on a police cruiser as they are designed not to fall off as often and would dress the tires up a little. I don't know if that is what you would call a "centre cap" or if it's considered a type of hubcap.

Any suggestions where I can find what I'm looking for?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

I haven't seen actual "hub caps" for a long time, since the actual protruding hubs went away! I thought it's all "wheel covers" these days...

    You're probably correct about that.

I've seen those smaller "caps" on the cruisers at work but I've never investigated the possibility of putting them on my personal vehicle until now. All I know is that they seldom come off which is more than I can say about the wheel covers we commonly see on personal vehicles.

I have no idea if a special rim is necessary or how they are installed. I"ll have to take a closer look or ask one of the maintenance people.

    Thanks Gamle-ged.
