Thread: valve clearance check/adjustment

Anyone recall what the dealership charged for the valve clearance check/adjustment to be done @ 30K mi? It's not a real big deal unless the clearances are out of the specified range. If so, it looks like it could get real expensive... real fast! Were the old VC gaskets successfully re-used?

Ideas?

Well, now, since I have every invoice richere... $297. But I don't see the valves mentioned. They replaced the engine air filter and cannister air filter, topped off fluids, did an oil/filter change and checked a bunch of stuff. In the manual I don't see valve clearance mentioned until 60,000 miles or 48 months has been reached.

Ouch. I'm hitting 48 months later this year, with likely only 53,000 or so miles...
