    Lightbulb C E L

    Got a re-occuring problem:

This has happened twice before. The check engine light comes on (blinking)
and then settles down to a steady light while still running.
The next day while driving, the light goes out.
This has happened twice before. No driving problems both times.

Saturday evening while cruising with the CC on at exactly 60 mph, the car
starts to feel like it is driving on really rough washboard type
pavement, but it is not as the pavement is smooth.
The CEL comes on (flashing) and I discover a slight loss in power.
It is missing, having lost at least one cylinder.
Drove it on to my destination. No fun at stop lights as you think it will stop altogether.
Shut it down and immediately started it up again, and now it is
purring like a happy Korean Kitrten, but it still has the CEL.
The light is now steady on, not flashing. Next day Sunday, the CEL is no longer lit.

Sometimes since, it has done that "rough-pavement"
shaking deal again, but no light this time.
Seems to happen only when using the cruise control and at a relatively
slow speed of only 60 mph which is less than 2000 RPM.
Feels like it is not hitting on all holes when this happens.

    Any suggestions anyone?

Will there be a stored code that the dealer will be able to detect?

Anyone else had this problem or hear about this happening?

Car has only 10,400 miles. Car was new in August 2007.

Thanks for any suggestions. I'm off to the dealer. Wish me luck!

    Smile RE: C E L

They found and cleared the computer stored code (misfire) and the problem which they
said was caused by a "weak" oxygen sensor. I was told that driving it while waiting for
the part will cause no problems, and I know this is true because this C E L
has come and gone three times over the last two months.
The last time it happened was the worst however, as the car stayed running on five or less
cylinders for approximately forty miles until I reached my destination and turned it off.
When restarted immediately, it was running on all six cylinders again . . What a difference!
Should this happen to you, shut yours down right away and then restart
it and don't drive it while it's running on less than all six as I did!

The service writer allowed that I was lucky that mine had not gone
into "limp" mode which he said that limits you to only 40 mph?Â*Â*

So I'm driving it again while waiting for their call, and it seems to be running better than ever.

I'll report further when I get more information. Stay tuned . .Â*Â*

It took the dealer four days to get the oxygen sensor and another three days before they
would actually install the part. Seems as if they cannot allow time to properly schedule
the replacement for the same day that the parts are due in (at 07:00).

Found out on Monday that the traffic Thursday, Friday and Saturday was very light.
Don't know why they like to play these games?
So in short, it took them a full week to get and install one of the supposedly
five different oxygen sensors that I was told are on our cars.
And these all have different part numbers.
Parts guy said that the reason they did not have these parts in stock is that the manufacture
had recalled them and that they were replaced with different (newer) part numbers.

Anyhow, it is finally finished and running perfectly now.
My only complaint is that the service department really jerked me around
and that the job should have been done in one day instead of seven.

Well, I would definitely be interested, although my schedule is hard to work with. I purchased a universal one off ebay and it throws a o2 slow to react. I have recently ordered one for a mini cooper that was remembered off the board but still have yet to receive it to see if it works.

I had a CEL. It cleans valves, part of the emission system. I am down to 34 months and 26000 km now.
I would be able to translate correctly between three different speeds and patterns on the fly.

It is a sort of photography designed to make realistic computer graphics is drawn by hand. Cel-shading is often used to imitate the style of a comic book or cartoon. It is a bit recent addition to computer graphics, the most commonly arises game console.
