Angry Hello...Maybe I shouldnt be here

    Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forums - As you can tell my by username MY ideal Azera is either a Venetian Blue or an Ebony Black both with Biege interiors.

I have a dilema as when I walked into the dealership the salesman said "Are you sure you want an old-mans vehicle like the Azera - You should be in a Tiburon"

I will admit I am a 19 year old college student - But I am also very education and business oriented. I am highly involved in my community and my chosen political party - I like to arrive to the many business/formal functions that I must attend in style and with a sense of class. I do not own, nor will I ever drive a salvaged vehicle in which my stero system and rims cost more than the vehicle itself - and I often feel ashamed when riding in the vehicles of aquaintances who enjoy such "rides" -**I have a very sophisticated personality and at first took offense to his comment as it was very stereotypical - However, I did manage to laugh it off and continue my search and test drive of a gorgeous vehicle.

In your opinion is this an "Old-mans" vehicle.....?
Should I be looking for another type of vehicle?

Thanks to everyone who has participated and contributed to a forum on such an amazing car!!!

hmm since your only 19 i would check out the sonata, even though you say you are very sophisticated i think it would be better if you drove a more performance oriented vehicle for a few years, so when you do get older you don't long for a ferrari.

    just my 0.2 cents

    06Azera_LTD,

I dont know if you have had a chance to test drive the Azera - but I would consider it ALL the performance any age group would require.

    263 Horsepower
    0-60 in 6.5 seconds

I had the opportunity through our local dealership (Manchester, New Hamphire) To "borrow" the vehicle for a day (9am-6pm) and do anything I wanted to without the "supervision" or sale-pitch nagging of a sales representative....

I tested EVERY feature - even the rain sensing wipers when encountering an afternoon thunderstorm (They work VERY well...)

To say the least when I found an open stretch of highway I REALLY let it lose and quickly reached 135MPH (YES - you read that correctly)
I feel the Azera has far more performance or speed than I nor anyone else who is not looking or known to illegally streetrace requires.

    Thanks for your opinion....

yea i have test drove the azera, but i'm just saying i think its a little too floaty and that you should go for a more sporty car, but there is no possible way that the azera goes from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds i would estimate more around 7.0-7.5 most of the articles that say 6.5 rely on what hyundai says, and if you are sophisticated and mature like you say, why do you feel the need to go 135mph in a brand new car which i'm assuming has less than 500 miles on it.

    i'm just saying....

RE: Hello...Maybe I shouldnt be here

I understand clearly what you are saying....

But what is your reasoning behind your statement - Because I am younger am I not supposed to enjoy a more stable and "floaty" ride?

Why not are you looking for a more sporty ride?
I have test driven other vehicles - most recently the Acura TL and the RL and I most definitely preferred the ride of the RL to that of the TL.

The fact that I reached an excessive speed while "Test Driving" the vehicle says nothing about my maturity or sophistication level.

Yes the car was brand new (In excess however, of 500 miles as it was the "demo" model) But that again has nothing to do with the speed I was traveling nor my maturity level

For such an argument - you can pose the question "Why create a vehicle with a top speed of 160 when the highest speed limit in the USA is well below that?"

I believe you are being very stereotypical based solely upon my age - for I see no other reasoning you can provide that would suggest that I could not enjoy the Azera the same amount or moreso - if/when you decide to make a purchase.

i apologize, i don't mean to be stereotypical, I would love for you to get an azera as i have already ordered mine over the weekend and it is just a great car, but I just figured you would enjoy something a little more sporty when your younger so when you DO get older you can get a more...............AHHHHHHH SCREW IT, who am i kidding?? buy the azera!!! TOMORROW!!!

RE: Hello...Maybe I shouldnt be here

Thank you soooooo much for your help - Cause I WAS really worried about how I might be perceived when driving an Azera

P.S. - Please forgive me if my last reply came off in a harsh-tone: Number 1) I think in some aspects you are correct and will take it into consideration - Maybe an Acura TL with the luxury package while still maintaining its sports ride is more of what I am looking for
Number 2) It was VERY early in the morning when we were having this "discussion" - and after being up since VERY early the morning before - I needed rest - (Yes, I was being a cranky one :P)

Thanks again - you have given me LOTS to think about

    Everyone,

    Keep the responses coming.....

Just go for a car that you like more after test driving.

Test drive tiburon, and azera, and see which one you like better. Cars aren't and shouldn't really be age-oriented at all in my opinion. It's all preference.

    P.S. Welcome to the forums.

Yup, go with what you want and what you will enjoy the most. If you like azera the most, go for it. it's a great car, im waiting a week or so till my dealer gets a white azera. i'll probably buy on then.
