What won't they think of next. I suppose it would protect the finish against a sand storm or truck dropped gravel, but I wonder what the interaction between the clearcoat and the vinyl plastic would be over time and in direct sunlight. I don't think it would be very attractive, and it would quickly dull in direct sunlight.
Welcome to this board. What model year Azera do you have.
3M or similar adhesive film have been around for some time now. Earlier ones tended to turn brown at the edge of the film. We had it installed on our motor home and were delighted with it. No discoloration or fading. Preparation of the surface and application by someone familiar with the installation are major players in having it done right. I am somewhat handy but would never consider buying a "kit" and doing it myself. When we bought our Azera, there was a Santa Fe on the floor that had the film installed - TERRIBLE job. Once it's on you own it. Additionally, lower areas of some vehicles have a textured finish to ward off stone chips - the film cannot be applied to these areas - needs to be absolutely smooth. The film is pretty resilient but will mark up from taking heavier hits.
