    timing chain tensioner replacement

Oops! Didn't really have an noise issue with the tensioner on my '07 Azera... until the 100Kmi warranty ran out! Now it's frequently noisy for a couple of seconds on cold start-ups, but after that the engine is still running as smoothly/quietly as when new. Given their almost total lack of cooperation, or even honesty, during either of the warranty periods, I really don't want to take the Azera in to any of the crappy Hyundai dealers around here or financially support their facades.

So... Question #1:has any one here changed an Azera's timing chain tensioner, and if so, how long did the job take?

Question #2: Any ideas on the Hyundai part number on their new & improved timing chain tensioner, vs. the original unit which takes a dive at 50-100Kmi? The old OEM units were on various parts distributor close-out lists; no desire to go there IMO!

(Yeah, I bought the big 'ol Hyundai factory shop manuals but they don't give shop times)

    TIA

Note that there is a TSB concerning the cam chain tensioner on the Azera.
The tensioner is hydraulically controlled and uses a ratchet mechanism to hold it in place when the engine is shut down ( it would otherwise retract due to loss of oil pressure ).
The teeth on some of the ratchet mechanisms wear or shear and do not hold the tensioner in extended position. This causes a rattle of the cam chain on startup until oil pressure extends the tensioner. This would explain a slight rattle for a few seconds after startup.

This method over many years and recommend that you do not assume the trouble is a certain part, as a problem in one area will often show up as a symptom somewhere else. An example is carb malfunctions are often incorrectly assumed to be governor problems.
